January 19 is Educational Assistant and Child and Youth Worker Appreciation Day in the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB). Today, we show our appreciation to all of these incredible staff members who support the students we serve every day.

Educational Assistants (EA) and Child and Youth Workers (CYW) in the WRDSB

The impressive work of these dedicated staff members can be seen in WRDSB classrooms every day. Each of them strives to engage, encourage and provide individualized support for students in their learning journeys. Together, they help to ensure all WRDSB students are able to achieve their fullest potential.

WRDSB EAs and CYWs play an important role in creating learning environments that are:

  • Safe
  • Equitable
  • Inclusive

Today, we recognize them.

“EAs and CYWs bring their passion and commitment for supporting students to WRDSB classrooms every day,” said jeewan chanicka, director of education at the WRDSB. “I am so happy to be able to share our gratitude for them today. I know that educators, parents, and caregivers will resoundingly agree when I say their work improves the experiences of every student we serve, every day.”
