At our last School Council Meeting we shared a presentation about Stanley Park.  Our council members thought it might be of interest to our community to post some of the basics.

Who We Are:

• Stanley Park is a grade 7 and 8 school of 425 students
• We have an English and Full French Immersion stream, along with a Developmental Education and a Life Skills class
• We are site for Hearing Services
• The students are taught by 29 teachers.
• 7 Education Assistants (EAs)and 1 CYW (Child and Youth Worker) assist our teaching staff
• Ms Schwartzenruber and Ms Napier manage our office.
• Mr. Ryan is our day custodian, and we have two night custodians
• Ms Versamy and Ms Napier run our library
• Mr. Coates is the Vice Principal and Ms Dawson is the Principal

• Stanley Park is part of the Waterloo Region District School Board.
• The Board has 7 Family of Schools Superintendents who are the liaisons between the board and schools.
• Our Superintendent is Mr. Shantz, who was previously a teacher and a Principal.
• The Director of the Board is Mr. Bryant

• There are 11 Trustees who are elected by municipal voters
• We have 4 local trustees in our school area – Ted Martin, Mike Ramsay, Kathi Smith, Natalie Waddel

 

There is also a staff at the school board that coordinate all the programs the board offers.
