BYOD – Bring Your Own Digital Device to Stanley Park is a new program launched last spring at Stanley Park. It is going well but we hope you will remind your son or daughter that the device can only be used with explicit permission from the teacher in charge. It is tempting for students to text you, or others during the day but this is not the point of having devices at school. We are trying our best to embrace technology to improve learning but we do need students to help make our program a success.
Once a device is given to the principal, it is recorded and returned at the end of the day when the student comes to retrieve it. However, if there is a second incident we will expect an adult to come and pick up the device. Please continue to work with us to help students successfully regulate their use of the devices to improve learning at Stanley Park.
Most Gators have been doing an awesome job so far. Keep up the good self regulation Gators.
