We certainly did have a good healthy taste of winter last week in K-W. This gave us a chance at Stanley to reflect on and review a few guidelines to allow our school and students to be safe, and keep learning at the center of our focus.
– please set your alarms a little earlier on winter days to allow for the extra time it takes to get to school on time
-please ensure you have appropriate clothing for our Canadian winters – we tell students that what they wear to school in the morning is what they should wear out at each break
-please remember that snow stays on the ground – we did several announcements regarding this well know expectation but we did end up with one trip to the hospital after the rule was not followed – safety must come first and that includes all snow staying on the ground
-please do not push and shove at the outside doors while waiting to get in – supervision does not begin until 8:30 when the doors open
We appreciate you reviewing these basics with your sons and daughters in order to help everyone enjoy a safe but fun weather season at Stanley.
