Dear Families and Students,

Stanley Park Outdoor Club is organizing Ski/Snowboard activities. These activities are open to every student and are a great opportunity for students who wish to learn to ski or snowboard as we will take advantage of the beginner program at Chicopee Ski Club. As well, students who know how to ski/snowboard or are members of Chicopee are more than welcome to join the Stanley Park Outdoor Club.

 

The Outdoor Club will have four outings at Chicopee Ski Hill and we are planning for an additional full day on February 13, 2015 at Mt. St. Louis/Moonstone near Barrie, ON. Information about the Mt. St. Louis/Moonstone trip will be coming later in January.

 

The Chicopee activities will be on the following days:

Thursday, January 15            4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, January 22            4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, January 29            4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, February 5           4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

 

The program will include at least one(1) lesson each of the four days (lessons are mandatory for all members of the Club), lift tickets, and equipment rentals for students who need to rent skis/snowboards.

 

The cost of the four (4) outings are below (please note: there are no refunds):

** Please make cheque out to Stanley Park P.S. with student name and form on back of cheque.

4 Week Student Package with Rental Equipment       $144.00

4 Week Student Package (no rentals)                               $100.00

**Extra Cost: Bus Transportation from school to Chicopee (only one way) for the four (4) outings is $16.00 total to be added to the Package you have chosen; this is only if it is needed.

 

Please note:

  1. Supervision by staff from Stanley Park will end at 6:00 p.m. Sharp. We expect that the students will plan to be picked up by parents at Chicopee before 6:00 p.m. The ratio of staff to students is 1:15.
  2. The Ski and Snowboard Package for the night is valid until 9:30 p.m. For those who would like to stay after 6:00 p.m. , please send back the permission form allowing your student to stay without our supervision. The form is included in this package.

 

 

 

In order to participate in this program, please complete and return the following forms to Stanley Park School:

Mandatory Forms:

  1. Parent/Guardian consent for Ongoing Off-Campus Activities (WRDSB).
  2. Registration form (Stanley Park Outdoor Club).
  3. Special Winter Excursion form – Parental Consent (OSBIE).
  4. Chicopee Liability form (Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort).
  5. If Needed:
  6. Permission form for students staying after 6:00 p.m. (Stanley Park Outdoor Club).
  7. Medical information form (WRDSB).

 

Information from Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort:

  • Ski Rental Package includes: skis, boots, helmet and poles
  • Snowboard Rental Package includes: snowboard, boots and helmet
  • The package rate is not valid with any other offers
  • Student Release Forms MUST be filled out and signed by a participant 18+ years of age or by their parent/legal guardian
  • Helmets must be worn at all times by all students and chaperones in the school program
  • All rates include HST and CRF (Capital Refurbishment Fund). In an ongoing effort to make the club better, we are instituting a fee on all lift tickets, programs, lessons & camps. These funds will be used exclusively for chairlifts, grooming equipment and snowmaking.

 

This information letter should be kept at home for your reference.
