French Immersion in the WRDSB for grades 1-6 has always been and will remain 50% of the programming, and the Report Card reflects French Immersion.  Grade 7 and 8 French Immersion in the WRDSB has been 33% of the programming which really makes it an Extended French program. On our grade 7 and 8 French Immersion students Term One Report Card it indicates  Extended French – this is correct.  In September 2015 the French Immersion program for the WRDSB will increase to be 53% of the programming.  At that time, the Report Cards will reflect French Immersion rather than Extended French.

These guidelines have just changed in the last year and although communication has gone home or been pushed out to families it sometimes does not make sense until we see or read the Report Card.  I hope this clarifies and misunderstandings.
