We have been experiencing a number of situations in the last few weeks of students talking/gossiping about other people.  We have spent a lot of time coaching students on not talking about other people, unless it is in a very private setting.  It seems that students, at times, are enjoying the power that they perceive to have when they negatively talk of others.  This is of course not all our of Gators, but I do think that a general, gentle reminder to all is warranted at this time.

Although it is a harsh saying the message at this time of year is fairly clear, “Don’t talk about other people!!!” (unless it is a reporting, confidential, safety or counseling situation)”.  Please help to emphasize the lessons of good communication and citizenship ,that are important for our students to internal, in order to help our school and society to be safe and run smoothly.

We do not expect our Gators to arrive at Stanley with all of these skills, but we do hope to see growth as they move forward.  Thanks for helping us to educate our students and focus on their well being so they can focus on learning.
