Gators, we would like to have you explicitly read page 5 in our Stanley Park Planner.  Our Dress Code is written there but without even looking at it we remind you that the dress code is a mutually agree upon set of guidelines to help our school feel safe and run smoothly for our community of learners.

What might be fashionable for after school, weekends or recreationally appropriate may not be suitable for the school day. We appreciate a collective approach to this issue and given we are still in March we hope this gives families sufficient time to perhaps shop or plan to meet these guidelines moving forward.

Three basic rules of thumb (always at the discretion of staff):

-shoulder straps should be 3-4 fingers wide (perhaps t-shirts are best)

-shorts should be approximately finger length or longer (perhaps capris are best)

-tops should meet bottoms, and bottoms meet tops (mid riffs should not be seen)

Many other guidelines are explicitly stated in the planner but these 3 guidelines should serve us well. Students have been reminded of this on announcements and since these are the same rules from fall we will be asking students to put gym clothes on if the requirements are not met.

Please work with us to help our students understand what is school appropriate rather than what might be after school, weekend or recreationally appropriate.

Thanks.
