We had an unfortunate situation last night where some of our Gators were approached on their way home by a male suspect and asked to give up their cell phones. Our Gators confidentially did the right thing by not risking their safety. Although one student sacrificed their phone another was able to swiftly call 911. Police responded and they have a thorough description of the suspect; all our Gators are safe.
A gentle reminder to our Gators to try to keep valuables, especially cell phones out of sight while walking to and from school. Please review best practices with your children around Stranger Danger, public display of valuables and the importance of safety.
We are proud of our Gators and want to make sure everyone is safe and knows how to best respond in a negative situation.
