Today at Stanley Park we are celebrating Rainbow Day. Each class has chosen a colour to represent the colours of the rainbow. Students will celebrate with a dance, movie or homework club at 2:00 May 19 (today). OK2BMe will host a information booth in our front foyer during the time of the dance. We are proud to be inclusive and to emphasize the well-being of all students and staff. Happy Rainbow Day!
“We believe that our schools are safe spaces for everyone that walks through our front doors. Our new strategic plan emphasizes that the well-being for all of our students and staff are met through a focus of inclusion. We have several policies and procedures in place that speaks to our commitment to equity and inclusion. Raising the Pride flag demonstrates this commitment to our students, staff, parents and caregivers and community members.
We know that those who identify as LGBTQ+ are at higher risk for experiencing bullying and harassment. Our school board will not tolerate this kind of behaviour. We will continue to create inclusive and safe spaces for anyone who enters any of our schools or buildings.”
