Dear Students and Families:
Stanley Park staff would like to extend a warm welcome to all students who will be attending in September 2025. Stanley Park offers an exciting, fast-paced learning environment that will help students continue to develop academically and socially at this important time in their lives. Students will have the opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills, and develop greater confidence in their abilities. We encourage students to come prepared to get involved because there is sure to be something for everyone.
You’ll love being a Gator!
This letter provides information to help you prepare for September.
The Daily Timetable: The school day will begin at 8:40am. Students are able to enter the school at 8:30am in order to be prepared and on time for their period 1 class. There are two 40-minute Nutrition Breaks during the day when students will go outside or to intramural activities, and then eat lunch in their classroom. Dismissal is at 3:00 pm and students may go to their lockers before going home or to after-school clubs. Those not participating in activities are expected to leave school property by 3:10 pm.
Nutrition Breaks: All students are expected to stay at school during both breaks. Students are allowed to go home for lunch with parents’ written permission during 2nd break only, but NOT to the plaza/mall due to safety concerns. In the past, pizza has been available once a week during Nutrition Break (purchased on School-Day).
Busing: The School Board offers transportation to students who qualify. Please check your address to see if your child will be eligible.
Information can be found at www.stswr.ca.
The First Day of School: Check your homeroom on School-Day prior to the start of school. Plan to arrive at 8:30 am on the first day. Stanley Staff will be here to help you find your class. At 8:45 am classes will go to Homerooms with teachers who will explain things and answer your questions. Remember – if you’re not sure about something, just ask!
Rotary Timetable: Students will rotate to different classrooms for different subjects (Language, Math, French, Science & Tech, Physical & Health Education, History & Geography, and Music).
Communication: Instead of planners, teachers will communicate with parents via Google Classroom and School-Day. A handbook with important information will be posted on School-Day for parents.
Device/Technology Policy: We have a Device Policy that will need to be sent home the first week of September and completed by students and parents. Cell phones cannot be used at school, and must be kept in lockers all day if students choose to bring them. If students do not follow the agreements, devices will be kept in the office. In some cases a parent call would be made, and phones would need to stay at home. Students cannot take pictures or videos while at school without explicit permission from a teacher. Students will have a Chromebook to use at school for educational purposes.
Extra-Curricular Activities: Stanley Park has an outstanding extra-curricular program. In the past, students have been able to participate in Band/Orchestra, Sports Teams & Clubs, and a variety of other clubs. Please note that clubs and teams vary from year to year. Be ready to get involved and have fun!
