The Ski and Snowboard Club will be starting this Wednesday January11th as well as January25, February1, February 15th. Students should anticipate that the outings to Chicopee will take place on the scheduled dates and bring all the required equipment/clothing etc. In the event of buses being cancelled due to poor weather or if temperatures fall to extreme lows (-25 or less), our outing will be cancelled and rescheduled for another day.
The Morning of the outing, students will bring their equipment to their respective homeroom for storage that day. At the end of the day, students will bring their equipment to rm. 23 while they wait for the bus pick up at 3:45. During this 45 minute wait, students are encouraged to complete homework, read, or chat quietly with friends until the bus arrives.
For students not taking the bus, please be at Chicopee by 4:00 and meet the Stanley Staff upstairs in the chalet for the instructions etc. Leave your skis or snowboards outside in the storage racks.
Chicopee members that are joining us on our visits. You are not required to meet for lessons and once you have arrived you can head out to the hills.
When the bus arrives at Chicopee, students will be met by a Chicopee staff member and brought to the upper level of the chalet where they will be given instructions as to where they are to leave their belongings, where to pick up rental equipment, tickets will be handed out and then students will be directed to the base of the Tenderfoot hill where lessons will take place.
A staff member will be available at all times in the upper Chalet area as well as staff members on the hills. Additionally, ski instructors can communicate with the front desk and reach our staff members on the hill.
At 5:45 any students who do not have permission to stay after the 6:00 Ski Club End Time, are to report to the Base of the North Chair Lift to check out with Stanley Park Staff.
We are looking forward to an enjoyable time. Come prepared for FUN!!!
