March 9th, 2015
As a result of our ongoing work with our SCIS Committee we have decided to move forward with an evening presentation at Stanley Park for our Digital Citizenship Initiative. Cat Coode is the same speaker that we brought in for our students before the Christmas Holiday. Our students gave us very positive feedback about her presentation. This presentation along with our connection the Crime Prevention Council, our THINK Bands, our work with Susan Watt from the WRDSB and our connection with the WRPS has helped to educate our students and parents and staff with regard to Safe Caring and Inclusive Schools, particularly with regard to Digital Choices. We feel that the next step includes bringing parents into the school to hear some of the messages we have been sharing with our students.
We will send a flyer home, ask parents to RSVP by sending in the tear off to be collected in the office. I will also share the invite with our feeder schools and ask for an RSVP from them (to be given to the office at their son or daughter’s school) as well so that we know how many people to expect.
April 8, 7:00 to 8:00 in the Stanley Park Gym.
